Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe admits opposition teams are now more cynical in games against them.
With 14 matches left, Newcastle are still in with a shout of a Champions League place and securing their best finish since 2003. However, as they found on Saturday away to Manchester City, teams are out to frustrate them as the champions proved when winning five corners in a row with no intention of playing the ball into the box in stoppage time.
When asked about City's antics, Howe said: "My take on it was we just wanted the ball. It's a frustrating thing for us because we wanted to go on and score.
"I've had both hats on. When you are winning with seconds to go and you are delaying and keeping the ball in the corner, so I have no issue with what they did at all. But it meant we could not get the ball where we wanted to so I have to compliment that on good play."
Newcastle go into their clash against Wolves in poor form but they have still only lost to Man City and Liverpool in the Premier League this season. Howe says he can take a lot of heart from that record.
Howe said: "Definitely. And if you'd said that to us at the start of the season, you'd have definitely taken that. That is a huge positive for us. Now we have 14 games left and we need to try to maximise every single one of them games.
"It's still in our hands. We are still capable of doing anything we want to do from this point of the season. Again, reverse back and you'd have taken that at the start of the season."
