Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has taken a swipe at Liverpool owner John W Henry.
The Fenway Sports Group man has suggested that Premier League spending should be limited.
Liverpool have always been meticulous about how they spend money under FSG, with most big purchases funded by player sales.
Howe said: I wouldn't want to see any more restrictions on spending.
We have spent money - don't get me wrong - but future restrictions would certainly deny our ability to improve as quickly as we want to."
Newcastle are already facing Financial Fair Play hurdles as they look to spend their way to success under Saudi Arabian ownership.
