Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has spoken about his ideal signings for the club.
The Magpies coach was discussing the club's recent acquisition of Anthony Gordon from Everton.
The winger, who has seven goals to his name, has arrived from the Toffees in a big money deal.
Per Chronicle Live, Howe said: "From my perspective, my ideal is to add a player in each window. I think it just freshens the group and is a new stimulus for everybody. You get that unique feeling when somebody walks through the door.
"He wants to impress his new team-mates, and they want to impress him, that is only helpful for the group. So that would be my ideal. You don't want the group to go stale.
"But of course it's got to be the right player and with ever increasing transfer fees it becomes more difficult, so I am really pleased with the business we have done."
Howe added on 21-year-old Gordon: "We felt in that area of our team bringing in a player who was young and dynamic was the way that we wanted to go.
"I agree he is for the here and now but also for the future. That is a great thing to have."
