Newcastle United are reportedly edging closer to a move for Leicester City star James Maddison.
The attacking midfielder has been a hot property in the transfer market over the past few years.
While a move has not materialised, Maddison has been linked to the Magpies, Manchester United, and Tottenham in the past.
Per I News, there is a chance that the Foxes would be willing to sell Maddison in January.
Newcastle will have to make an offer that is higher than the £45 million bid they put in during the summer.
The source adds that Leicester are looking at Manchester United outcast Donny van de Beek as an alternative to Maddison.
