Newcastle midfielder Joelinton didn't seek excuses after their 2-1 defeat to AC Milan.
The result saw Newcastle finish bottom of their Champions League group and out of Europe.
Joelinton said: We're disappointed. We wanted to qualify from the group. We started well and we got the goal. We have to pick ourselves up and go again in our next game.
I would have swapped my goal for the win. I don't think fatigue was to blame today. We have done well in a very difficult group.
"We've had some good games. We need to learn and improve."
