Newcastle United tried everything to sign Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic over the summer.
So says Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Romano claims that Newcastle wanted Pulisic on a loan deal rather than permanent, which is why the deal never went through.
Speaking on the Que Golazo Podcast, he said: “Strong interest from Newcastle [in Pulisic]. Newcastle were obsessed with Christian.
“They wanted him on loan, but not on a permanent deal. They wanted him on loan, maybe with a buy option, not mandatory. And this is why Chelsea decided to say no."
