Manchester United will be forced to wait until 2026 to hire Newcastle United's Dan Ashworth.
The Premier League giants are hoping to swoop in for a rival's sporting director.
Ashworth has worked in that job at Newcastle since 2022, when he left Brighton.
However, with the Red Devils calling, he is said to want to make another change in his career.
Per The Telegraph, Ashworth has a 20 month gardening leave period built into his contract.
The only way for the Red Devils to hire him before 2026 is to pay a fee close to 20 million.
