Newcastle United take swipe at Man United after dramatic win

Shortly after the final whistle, Newcastle United on X shared a celebratory photo of the entire squad posing together following the win over Manchester United.

The post included a pointed caption aimed at their opponents.

“WHO’S THAT TEAM WE CALL UNIIIIIITED,” the account wrote.

The image showed the Newcastle players celebrating together after completing a dramatic 2-1 victory at St James’ Park, a result made even more impressive given they played much of the match with ten men.

Moments like that explain why the Magpies’ social media team wasted little time in celebrating a win that immediately became one of their standout results of the season.

Newcastle overcame poor home form to beat Manchester United

The performance itself made the celebration even sweeter because Newcastle had been struggling badly at home before this match.

The win ended a run of three straight Premier League defeats at St James’ Park and came in dramatic fashion thanks to a late goal from substitute William Osula.

Newcastle actually played the entire second half with ten men after Jacob Ramsey was sent off before the break.

Anthony Gordon had earlier given the hosts the lead from the penalty spot before Casemiro equalised for Manchester United late in the first half.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, Newcastle kept pushing forward and eventually found the decisive moment when Osula scored a spectacular 90th-minute winner.

The result also handed Michael Carrick his first defeat as Manchester United manager and turned a difficult run of home results into a night Newcastle fans will remember.
