Kota Kinabalu: Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan lodged a police report over a viral WhatsApp screenshot he says was fabricated to damage his reputation and discredit Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat).
The Apas Assemblyman, also Gagasan Rakyat’s Information Chief, described the circulating messages as “malicious political slander.”“I categorically deny the WhatsApp screenshot allegedly involving myself and several other individuals.
“This vile slander was deliberately created to tarnish my name and smear the image of Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah,” he said after lodging the report at the Kota Kinabalu District Police Headquarters (IPD).
He described the smear as a clear act of dirty politics, pointing out that the same individual had previously spread similar claims against Kunak Assemblywoman Datuk Norazlinah Arif.
He said he had instructed his lawyer to issue a Letter of Demand (LOD) against the individual.
