DeQuan Jones and Schonny Winston led NLEX’s spirited fourth quarter scoring attack to beat Converge, 119-107, and stay perfect in the PBA Season 50 Governors’ Cup on Saturday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Jones and Winston accounted for 20 of the Road Warriors’ 31 fourth quarter points as they left the FiberXers biting the dust, and continued to free-fall.
After opening the conference with three straight wins, Converge has lost its last three matches despite engaging NLEX in a nip-and-tuck affair through the first three quarters.
Jones led NLEX with 28 points and nine rebounds, while Winston added 24 as the team improved to 5-0 under new coach Jimmy Alapag.
Robert Bolick flirted with a triple-double as he finished with 19 points, nine rebounds and 10 assists, while Tony Semerad had 15 and seven boards.
Jamal Franklin led Converge with 26 points and seven rebounds, while Mikey Williams had 18.-
