Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s gold medal target remains at 40 in the coming 20th Malaysian Games (Sukma) scheduled to begin from September 16-24 in Kuala Lumpur.

The target was originally set for the 2020 biennial Games in Johor before it was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and moved to the national capital this year.

Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Ellron Angin, who made the announcement in a press conference held at his Ministry on Thursday, also said Sabah will be represented by 466 athletes.

They will compete in 294 events from 31 sports and 182 of the athletes are selected from the last 2019 Sabah Games held in Keningau.
