Kota Kinabalu: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) will secure victory in the coming 17th Sabah State Election through unity, readiness, and the fighting spirit of its party machinery at all levels, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

The GRS Chairman said the launch of the coalition’s election machinery marks a crucial step to strengthen strategy and morale as the state prepares for polls next month.

“With an efficient, well-trained and united machinery, God willing, GRS will achieve victory in the 17th Sabah State Election,” he said when launching the GRS Election Machinery at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), Sunday.

He reminded party members not to be complacent but work tirelessly to secure a strong mandate and ensure Sabah continues to be governed by a stable and capable administration.

“We must ignite our fighting spirit and strengthen our unity. With solid determination and strong cohesion, no opposing force can shake our struggle,” he said.

Hajiji said despite two parties leaving the coalition ahead of the election, GRS remains strong and united because its struggle is built on sincerity and genuine friendship for the future of Sabah.

“The ‘Kinabalu Move’ taught us a valuable lesson, our house has been tested, and it did not fall. Our house stands firm, this is our home, the home of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah!” he declared.

He said GRS embodies the genuine cooperation of major local parties in Sabah, and no other coalition can match its strength.

“There is no other coalition as large and united as GRS that brings together local parties with the shared goal of defending the rights of Sabahans as equal partners in Malaysia. That is why we must ensure not only victory for GRS, but a resounding one,” he stressed.

He said this state election is not merely a contest for power but a battle to determine Sabah’s future.

“A GRS victory will give us a stronger voice to defend state rights and ensure that ongoing development policies continue. If we fail, it will be the people and the state who suffer.” He also urged GRS members to counter misinformation on social media and deliver accurate information to the public.

“The opposition spreads lies and propaganda online. If they attack with falsehoods, we must respond with truth and facts,” he said, calling on members to be responsible, factual, and ethical in communication.

“Do not let Sabah fall back into the hands of those who failed to govern, who had no clear direction, and who only practiced politics driven by revenge and personal interest.

“The 17th State Election is not only fought on the ground but also in the digital arena. Social media is now the main battleground shaping public perception. GRS’ victory depends greatly on how effectively we command this space with clear, swift, and impactful messages.” He said if all GRS machinery remains united, agile, and creative in using social media as a primary communication tool, no opposition propaganda can erode public confidence in GRS.

Hajiji concluded that the spirit of GRS will not fade even in the face of challenges.

“No mountain is too high for us to climb, no sea too deep for us to cross! Our house, we will guard it. If not us, then who?” he said.
