The Prince and Princess of Wales will not be present at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding taking place today, bringing an end to weeks of speculation about a possible royal appearance at the star-studded ceremony.
Despite Prince William's playful suggestion during a radio interview that he might be hoping for an invitation, GB News understands that neither he nor Catherine will be among the guests.
The confirmation comes after considerable public interest in whether the royals would attend what many have described as 'America's equivalent of a royal wedding', given the friendly relationship between the Waleses and the superstar couple.
The topic arose during William's appearance on Heart Breakfast in May, when presenter Amanda Holden questioned him about whether he had secured an invite to the Swift-Kelce nuptials.

"No comment," the prince responded with a grin, drawing laughter from those in the studio.
He then added: "I'm hoping, and I'm sure there might be an invitation around, but we'll see."
The exchange sparked considerable chatter about whether William and Kate, both aged 44, might make a surprise appearance at the highly anticipated ceremony.
During the same interview, William revealed that Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8, were devoted Swift fans, noting that Charlotte in particular was "obsessed" with the singer.

The heir to the throne's connection with Swift stretches back more than a decade.
The pair first crossed paths at the Centrepoint Winter Whites Gala held at Kensington Palace in 2013, where they memorably took to the stage alongside Jon Bon Jovi for an unplanned performance of "Livin' on a Prayer."
Their paths crossed again in June 2024, when William marked his 42nd birthday by bringing Prince George and Princess Charlotte to the Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium.
The future king was spotted enthusiastically dancing in the crowd during "Shake It Off," a moment that delighted fans and media alike.

Following the concert, Swift posted a backstage photograph featuring herself alongside William, George and Charlotte, while a separate image showed Kelce posing with the royals – both pictures quickly becoming viral sensations.
"Happy Bday M8! London shows are off to a splendid start," the pop star captioned her post, tagging the Prince and Princess of Wales's official account and including Union Jack, American flag and handshake emojis.
Swift and Kelce, both 36, revealed their engagement in August 2025 following a two-year relationship. Their much-discussed wedding has attracted comparisons to a royal occasion in its own right.
