Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce wedding live: Celebrity guests pour out of Madison Square Garden after huge ceremony

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are married!

After months of speculation over how they’d celebrate their nuptials, the mysterious Madison Square Garden rumors became a reality when paparazzi and countless chauffeured cars began pulling up outside the New York City arena Thursday and Friday.

In a statement shared with The Independent, Swift’s representative revealed that the ceremony was officiated by Adam Sandler and that Swift chose not to have bridesmaids.

Instead, her brother Austin Swift served as her Man of Honor and Jason Kelce was the groom’s Best Man.

Around 7.30 p.m. Friday, LED signs outside the venue read “JUST&T MARRIED!” The “T&T” is a nod to their shared first initial, which has been featured on guest merchandise for the event.

The couple’s bleary-eyed celebrity guests began pouring out of the venue in the early hours, helping to confirm who was lucky enough to receive an invite... and who might have been left off the guestlist.

As Taylor Swift celebrated her union with NFL star Travis Kelce with around 1,000 of their closest friends and family, there was one (seemingly) notable absence.

On Thursday, as workers carried props, food and pink carpet into Madison Square Garden, the pop star’s longtime friend Blake Lively, 38, was spotted with husband Ryan Reynolds, 49, hundreds of miles away in Lake Placid, New York, at their daughter’s horse show.

This was the same day that Swift and Kelce were said to be hosting their rehearsal dinner, with Swift’s close friends Selena Gomez, Lena Dunham and Jack Antonoff among the guests spotted turning up to the venue.

Then, on Friday, hundreds more celebrities were seen making their way into the venue and then leaving in the early hours of Saturday morning, among them Hugh Grant, Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper, Gracie Abrams, Ed Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn, Ellie Goulding, the Haim sisters and Graham Norton.

Yet Lively and Reynolds weren’t spotted by photographers, social media, fans or the hundreds of news outlets that have been reporting on the celebrations in the heart of New York City.

Meanwhile, hair stylist Danielle Priano shared some photos of Cara Delevingne, another friend of Swift’s, and used the pop star’s song “Vigilante S***” when sharing it to her Stories on Instagram.

It seems wedding guests could have been treated to a performance from none other than Beatles legend Paul McCartney, who was seen leaving MSG with Hollywood pal Tom Hanks after the ceremony.

Swift is a huge fan of McCartney, having interviewed him for a Rolling Stone cover story in 2020, and championed his latest album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane, on Instagram.

The Hollywood Reporter reported that Swift was due to perform with McCartney and her other hero and friend, Stevie Nicks.

She and Hanks recently teamed up on the new Toy Story film, in which Hanks voices main character Woody, with Swift contributing the original song “I Knew It, I Knew You”.

Why did Adam Sandler officiate Taylor and Travis's wedding ceremony?

13:02 , Roisin O'Connor

The news that comedian and actor Adam Sandler officiated the wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce might have come as a surprise to some, but he and Swift go way back.

Sandler has been an admirer of Swift’s for years; he’s met her on several occasions at public events and attended one of her Eras concerts in LA, while also taking his children to the premiere of her Eras concert film.

“Taylor is so nice to my family and always has been,” he told Entertainment Tonight last year. “My kids have met Taylor a bunch of times over the years, and she’s ridiculously nice to them and warm.”

Swift’s new husband, Kelce, then made a cameo in Sandler’s film Happy Gilmore 2 in 2025, while Sandler was invited onto Kelce’s podcast New Heights with his brother, Jason Kelce.

There, Sandler told the duo that Swift “means so much to our house” and championed their relationship: “When you guys first started dating, my family was like, ‘Yes. Look how good they are together. He’s a gentleman and she’s having so much fun.”

With a combined fortune worth billions of dollars and a fanbase that spans the globe, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were never going to settle for an ordinary wedding planner.

But who is the mastermind behind the elaborate and mysterious ceremony, which has taken place at Madison Square Garden in New York City?

Reports are circulating that the highly coveted gig was put in the hands of Mark Seed, an enigmatic planner of unions between some of the world’s biggest celebrities. Seed has built a reputation for staying out of the spotlight, rarely giving interviews, maintaining virtually no social media presence and keeping his celebrity clients firmly under wraps.

Taylor Swift fans have finally found out the designer who created the pop star’s dress for her wedding to Travis Kelce.

Brothers only

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce each only had one person standing next to each other during their Madison Square Garden ceremony Friday: their brothers!

Swift’s brother, Austin, was her “man of honor” — instead of maid of honor — while Kelce was joined by his brother and podcast host, Jason, according to the singer’s representative, Tree Paine.

Some celebrities were guaranteed spots on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s thousand-person invite list, like Swift’s close friends Zoë Kravitz and Selena Gomez, as well as Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs teammates.

However, other attendees have surprised fans — like Swift’s former best friend Karlie Kloss, who she was last seen with in 2017, and her husband Joshua Kushner.

Blake Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, appeared to be shut out of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s star-studded wedding, possibly marking the end of their friendship.

Donald Trump’s grudge against Taylor Swift is not taking a break on her wedding day.

Swift’s wedding to Kelce was celebrated with massive pink screens illuminated outside the iconic New York City arena proclaiming “JUST&T MARRIED” after the A-list couple said “I do” in front of more than 1,000 guests.

Shortly after the signs went up, the White House issued a takedown parodying the announcement.

“IT’S HAPPENED!!!” the White House’s official X account said in a post, along with an AI-generated picture of pink billboards saying, “Trump is your president.”

Adam Sandler, longtime Swiftie, was today more than just a 'Wedding Singer'

01:37 , Ellie Muir

Adam Sandler, who famously starred in the 1998 comedy The Wedding Singer, was a surprise choice to officiate today's Swift-Kelce nuptials.

The former Saturday Night Live star has said in the past that he is a longtime fan of the pop superstar.

He's also worked with Kelce before, having cast the NFL player to make a cameo appearance in his 2025 comedy Happy Gilmore 2.

Sandler has also made several guest appearances on Kelce's New Heights podcast. Back in August 2024, he gushed about how big a fan he and his family are of Swift.

"What a girl!" said Sandler. "She means so much to our house. Since the kids... I think I was shooting Grown Ups or That's My Boy in Massachusetts, and the kids were little, and we were listening to Taylor Swift, and listening to every song. It was one of the first times you'd listen to every song on the record.”

“When I was a kid, I think the Beatles you did that with, maybe Elton John. It's not like three hits and then you go, alright, let me skip. With Taylor, we knew every tune, we knew every word. I loved listening to her in the car. I loved what she had to say. Her message, her melody... how cool she was... what she meant to young girls, what she meant to women, what she means to guys doing the right thing.”

The comedian added that Swift is the rare celebrity he gets nervous around, because, "I don't want to f***in' blow it for my kids and say something stupid! She means so much to my f***in' house I better say the right thing here!”

Clearly, he must have said the right thing: Today, he was the one to declare the couple man and wife.

So, Dior won the wedding dress wars

01:32 , Ellie Muir

Although we haven’t seen it yet, Christian Dior Haute Couture was behind Swift’s wedding dress.

Luxury fashion houses would have fought over who got to make Swift’s dress, but she ultimately listed Dior’s creative director, Jonathan Anderson, who worked in collaboration with Swift.

The Northern Irish designer, who has been at the helm of the company for a year, is also the founder of the luxury brand JW Anderson. The bag was part of one of Anderson’s earlier offerings at the house.

Huge thunderstorm hits NYC — but it spells good luck for the happy couple

01:17 , Ellie Muir

Nobody wants it to rain on their wedding day, really, but a large thunderstorm has just hit New York City, just 30 minutes after Swift and Kelce said ‘I do!’

Well, it may be a sign, because rain on a wedding day is thought to be good luck. It's a long-held belief in many cultures and religions, from Hinduism to Irish lore, though it’s often used to reassure couples who have a drizzly wedding.

The city has issued a “severe thunderstorm watch” until 11 p.m. Outside Madison Square Garden, the tents set up to shield guests are flapping in the wind.

That heatwave is a genuine danger for those who’ve chosen to station themselves outside the venue today. As the New York Post reported yesterday, there is no provision in the event plans to provide safety measures such as misting stations or water for fans gathered outside the venue.
