SHAH ALAM – When it comes to happiness, big cities often get the spotlight. But Malaysia’s latest list tells a different story.

The Housing and Local Government Ministryhas unveiled the 10 happiest towns in Malaysia for 2026 and most of them are smaller, quieter places spread across Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah.

Among those recognised are Dabong, Kelantan; Kluang, Johor; Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu; Bandar Lipis, Pahang and Marang, Terengganu.

Also making the list are Mersing, Johor; Permaisuri, Terengganu; Ranau, Sabah; Raub, Pahang and Simpang Renggam, Johor.
