KUALA LUMPUR: The remains of Nur Izzati Humaira Azizul, the teenage girl who died after going missing while hiking Bukit Changkat Asa in Hulu Bernam, Hulu Selangor last Saturday, were taken to Sungai Buloh Hospital (HSB) for a post-mortem this afternoon.

Hulu Selangor district police chief ACP Ibrahim Husin said the victim’s body was found by the search and rescue (SAR) team approximately one kilometre from the Incident Command Post (PKTK) at 11.58 am today, after the search operation entered its fourth day.

He said the victim’s body was successfully brought out from the location at 1.08 pm.

“The investigation has been classified as a sudden death after previously being opened as a missing persons case,” he said in a statement here today.

He said the four-day SAR operation involved 114 personnel from various agencies including the police, the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM), the Civil Defence Force (APM), mountain guides and volunteers.

Nur Izzati Humaira, 19, is believed to have lost her way at 10.50 am last Saturday while descending the hill with her family.

She is believed to have decided to walk alone in order to reach the foot of the hill earlier as she was feeling hot and tired before she was reported missing.
