MANILA, Philippines — Nxled came out firing to take down top team PLDT in four sets, 21-25, 25-23, 25-13, 25-14, and keep its chances for a top four finish alive in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference on Thursday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.

The Chameleons ended the preliminary round with a 5-4 win-loss record, but for them to secure a top four slot, Creamline and Akari, who are both tied with a 5-3 win-loss record, need to lose their next matches.

Three-time league Most Valuable Player (MVP) Brooke Van Sickle led Nxled with a double-double performance of 21 points, 11 excellent receptions, and nine excellent digs.

For Van Sickle, scoring was a little bit challenging against a premier blocking team like the High Speed Hitters.

“PLDT has been the top blocking team for quite some time now, actually, plus, they’re really tall. I think we did a good job covering the ball today. I mean, they’re a good blocking team for a reason, so if we can cover and be aggressive, we can find our way,” she said during the post-game presser.

Julyana Tolentino made 21 excellent sets for Nxled that allowed three more players to score in double figures as MJ Phillips, Jonah Sabete, and Myla Pablo finished with 16, 15, and 13 points, respectively.

PLDT, which usually scores in double figures in the blocking statistics, only made seven in the game while Nxled made six.

The High Speed Hitters were led by Savi Davison who scored 18 points and Alleiah Malaluan who added 13.
