Lady Altas advance to NCAA volleyball semis

BACOOR CITY, Cavite — Four players scored in double digit for University of Perpetual Help System Dalta as the Lady Altas defeated  the Lady Generals of Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC), 25-12, 25-19, 25-18, to reach the semifinal round of NCAA Season 101 women’s volleyball tournament on Wednesday at the Strike Gym here in Barangay San Nicolas 2.

Cyrille Almeniana and Jemalyn Menor scored 17 points apiece to lift the Perpetual Help women's volleyball team to its first final four appearance in three years.

Middle blockers Charisse Enrico and open hitter Shaila Omipon added 10 points each even as Jemalyn Menor contributed 12 digs and 12 receptions for the Lady Altas.

Setter Fifi Ariola made 26 excellent sets and libero Jodi Lozano added 21 digs and 14 receptions.

Mary Joy Perez finished with 12 points and 12 receptions for the Lady Generals, who stunned the Lady Altas in the first game of the quarterfinals that led to this do-or-die duel for a semis berth.

In the men’s division, Letran secured a semifinal slot after defeating Perpetual Help 27-29, 25-11, 25-23, 25-18.
