OCTA: 60% of Filipinos satisfied with police force performance

SIX out of 10 Filipinos continue to express trust and satisfaction with the Philippine National Police, according to an independent survey conducted by OCTA Research.

In its Tugon ng Masa poll conducted from March 19 to 25, 2026, 63 percent expressed trust in the PNP.

The highest trust was recorded in Mindanao at 74 percent, followed by the Visayas region at 66 percent, Balance Luzon at 59 percent, and the National Capital Region at 54 percent.

By socioeconomic class, the PNP enjoys high trust ratings among members of Class E at 83 percent, followed by Class D at 66 percent and Class ABC at 42 percent.

While distrust of the PNP was lower, it varied across areas: the highest was in the Visayas at 22 percent, followed by Balance Luzon at 18 percent, and the lowest in the National Capital Region at 16 percent and in Mindanao at 15 percent.

Meanwhile, 61 percent of respondents were satisfied with the PNP’s job in the first quarter of 2026. Mindanao respondents showed the highest satisfaction with the PNP’s performance at 69 percent, followed by Visayas at 63 percent, Balanced Luzon at 59 percent, and NCR at 52 percent.

Socioeconomic Class D had the highest satisfaction rating for the PNP at 65 percent, followed by Class E at 62 percent and Class ABC at 42 percent.

The survey had 1,200 respondents and a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percent.
