A 48-YEAR-OLD overseas Filipino worker (OFW) looking forward to a joyful homecoming was arrested for estafa immediately upon her return to Manila.
The Aviation Security Group (Avsegroup) reported that the Bureau of Immigration arrested the OFW upon her arrival at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Oct. 26 from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Immigration authorities flagged her name under an Alert List Order due to an outstanding court warrant, with bail set at P40,000.
The PNP E-Warrant System confirmed that the warrant was active and unserved. This prompted NAIA Police Station 1 to coordinate with the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group to implement the arrest.
The Avsegroup said that the OFW is currently in CIDG custody for documentation and legal processing.
