MANILA, Philippines — The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) has opened an OFW Global Center in Taipei.
OFW stands for Overseas Filipino Worker.
"Our OFWs in Taiwan now have a new place to go to for information, services, and support," the OWWA said in Filipino in a statement.
It is the third OFW Global Center established under the Marcos administration. The other two are in Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur.
The centers offer, the OWWA said, "various trainings, wellness activities, and welfare support to further enhance the skills and protect the health and welfare of our countrymen."
The one in Taipei is at the Manila Economic and Cultural Office building in Neihu District. OFWs can "ask about programs and benefits, seek guidance, and" seek assistance for their needs there, the OWWA said.
