THE Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) assured continued assistance for an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who is under intensive care after surviving an attack at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Oct. 10.
In a statement released on Friday, the DMW said the OFW remains comatose and intubated because of multiple injuries.
Citing an Oct. 15 report from Labor Attaché Dominador Salangga of the Migrant Workers Office in Riyadh, Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said the OFW had undergone successful surgery and was improving.
“The good news is that the surgical operations were successful, and from 3/15 on the Glasgow Coma Scale score, she is now at 9/15, based on the report of our Labor Attaché in Riyadh on October 15, 2026,” Cacdac said.
Seven OFWs initially required medical attention following the attack, including three who were placed under intensive care.
In a current update, two have been transferred to hospital wards, while the others have been discharged.
“Following the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., we continue to assist our fellow Filipino with her medical needs and coordinate with the host government to ensure that she is not neglected,” Cacdac added.
