
Kota Kinabalu: Two owners of an entertainment outlet were fined a total of RM10,000 by the Magistrate’s Courts here, Friday, for operating the premiseS without a licence, last year.
Koh Siew Ching, 44, and Hee Kok Khiong, 39, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Dzul Elmy Yunus to committing the offence at the Woozy, Jalan Lintas Plaza here, on Nov 23, 2024, at 11.23pm.
AdvertisementThey were found to be manning the business without a valid licence issued under Section 6 (1) of the Public Entertainment Ordinance (PEO) 1958.
The charge, under Section 4 of the PEO 1958 and punishable under Section 11 of the same Ordinance, provides a fine of up to RM50,000 or up to one year jail or both on conviction.
