Oh, here's yet another comic relief in our political drama that might interest you, folks.
Kedah's Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, recently delivered a sarcastic speech that could put even the wittiest stand-up comedians to shame.
He's been taking heat from the 'Madanon,' his political adversaries in the Madani Government, and decided it was time to fire back with a verbal artillery that would make Shakespeare proud.
Sanusi complains about being accused of shouting profanities, but let's be honest, when you're in the political ring, a few verbal jabs, here and there are to be expected.
He even likened the situation to Lee Kuan Yew's tactics from Singapore. Sue your opponents into silence – a tactic that might have a few folks raising their eyebrows.
But what's even more comical is his beef with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. According to Sanusi, Anwar doesn't practice what he preaches. When the ringgit dipped against the US dollar while Anwar was in the opposition, our current PMX blamed the government for failing to take care of the country.
Fast forward to his time in power, and Anwar's got more excuses than a student who didn't do their homework.
Sanusi's solution? Shout Anwar's own words back at him, of course. Bravo, Sanusi, you've just mastered the art of political irony.
He finishes with a touch of sanctity, urging Pas members and anyone disappointed with the government to pray for its collapse.
Because, you see, the government should take care of every Malaysian, not just their own supporters. A noble sentiment, but in the world of politics, noble sentiments often seem as rare as unicorns.
So there you have it, Sanusi's witty retort against the powers that be.
As the drama unfolds in Malaysian politics, we can at least count on some entertaining one-liners to keep us amused.
