Ah, the woes of former Prime Minister Najib Razak.
It seems that even in jail, his concerns lie not with his own predicament, but with the prices of McDonald's meals.
How noble of him to advocate for the people's wallets while serving time for his alleged involvement in a massive corruption scandal. Perhaps he believes that fighting for affordable fast food is his way of seeking redemption.
But let's not be too hasty in dismissing Najib's humane concerns.
After all, McDonald's holds a special place in the hearts and stomachs of Malaysians. It's a beloved institution, a symbol of convenience and indulgence.
So, when the prices of their favourite meals skyrocket, it's only natural for Malaysians to take notice.
Najib Razak, with his astute social media presence, saw an opportunity to stir up some controversy. He highlighted the alarming price increases of McDonald's menu items, pointing out the significant jumps since December 2017.
One can't help but wonder if he had a craving for a Big Mac while typing that Facebook post from his prison cell.

The numbers he presented are indeed shocking. A 56% surge in the price of a Big Mac? An 86% increase for a McChicken? It's enough to make anyone clutch their wallet tightly.
But should we really be surprised? Inflation is a reality of the modern world, and the fast-food industry is not exempt from its grip.
McDonald's, like any other business, has to adjust its prices to keep up with rising costs.
However, what makes this whole situation truly amusing is the timing of Najib Razak's concern. It's as if he wants us to forget about his own legal troubles and focus on the price of a Happy Meal instead.
Maybe he hopes that by championing the cause of the common Malaysian, he can distract us from his alleged misdeeds. Or maybe he just really, really misses McDonald's.
In the grand scheme of things, the price of a fast-food meal might seem trivial. There are far more pressing issues that Malaysians face, such as income inequality, corruption, and social justice.
But hey, if talking about the cost of a Filet-O-Fish helps us ignore those weightier matters for a moment, then who are we to complain?
So, let us ponder the fate of former Prime Minister Najib Razak, locked away in his cell, dreaming of McDonald's, and lamenting the price hikes that affect us all.
Perhaps he hopes that by shedding light on this matter, he can reclaim a fraction of his lost popularity.
Or perhaps he just needs someone to commiserate with over a McChicken.
Whatever the case, one thing is for sure: the cynicism in this situation is almost as palpable as the smell of french fries.
