Hey! Did you know? Just before the General Elections, Malays are told by politicians that they are oppressed and that the Chinese are going to take over.

Using “hate speech, politicians divide and rule, and win elections.”

In the interview, Tengku Mahkota Johor paused and questioned: “And I'm like, what the hell are you talking about? That is basically hate speech. That is like basically giving a completely different narrative. But some people, like I said, who are not educated will believe that. That's how you win an election.”

Tengku Mahkota Johor said: “It's very, very important to have the royal family playing their part in Malaysia when it comes to promoting unity in the country. And I think they do that very, very well. That's how the checks and balances happened.”

To check the hate speech, he added, “And here comes the royal family trying to say, hold on, relax. It's all about the people. That's important. Being united. That's what's important.”

The interview focuses on the importance of the royal family in Malaysia, particularly the Crown Prince of Johor, and fostering national unity is a key theme discussed in this interview

“The Malays have different privileges. And we just have to be very, very grateful. But we just have to work harder. And there's still a lot of respect amongst other religions and also other races. And we have to acknowledge that. But you see, whenever politicians speak, they always say, "Oh, we have to do this for the Malays." We have to, the Malay must do this, the Malay must do that.”

The Tengku Mahkota termed it as: “Divide and conquer. Whether they try to get you to claim the religious sensitivity or the racial sensitivity, whatever works in their favour.”
