Campaigns for religious, race, and politics of vengeance by former ministers “Don’t vote for the PH unity Government” fell on deaf ears. Simply, did not work.
Malaysians voted with their true conscience of mind, heart and soul for a young and bright winner Pang Sock Tao.
The worst was when analysts got it all wrong predicting an upset in the Kuala Kubu Baru by-elections. Analysts also said Anwar Ibrahim will be taught a lesson as PH may lose the by-elections in Kuala Kubu Baru.
If PH wins, it will be marginal, they concurred. Finally, the results showed a comfortable win of more than 3,000 votes. Analysts were wrong again.
Shockingly, DAP and UMNO worked together with other PH parties and moved forward in the victory despite hurt feelings created by PN and other opposition leaders.
In this YouTube, note Professor Tajuddin Rasdi comments on how Malaysians rejected the politics of race-religious extremism and vengeance.
“The KKB also showed the maturity of Malaysians in rejecting the calls by Wee Ka Siong of MCA and Dr. Ramasamy of Urimai to practice the politics of vengeance,” said Tajuddin.
In addition, all that cybertroopers' fake news purportedly by Reuters on Malaysian sanctions and threats by PN leaders suing PH if it wins did not influence the voters in Kuala Kubu Baru.
More pathetic analysis… For example, that there will be a boycott and voter turnout by all races will be reduced dramatically to teach PH a lesson. Wrong again.
Cyber troopers, depending on whose payroll? Instant experts and half-baked analysts had a heyday with the social media churning information that PH will lose.
They predicted Indian hate votes would be against PH, and Indians were kingmakers in by-elections. Dissatisfied Indian leaders were drumming up hate among Indian voters.
Indian voters were influenced by the rhetoric in the first week of the campaign. Their attitudes changed in the second week after Pakatan government officials went down to solve their problems. The turning point came when the Housing and Local Government Ministry promised to build low-cost houses for 245 families that had been evicted from five plantations in the KKB area, he added
Let’s be fortunate, we are in a blessed country. We are nothing compared with what is happening in Gaza. Sanctions or no sanctions to Malaysia, our leaders have made their stand in support of the Palestinians. Are they going to change their Islamic support stand for humanity? Not really.
Victory to PH was because of greater confidence in the unity government. In addition, the legwork from Umno was a key factor that helped Harapan and DAP retain the seat via its candidate Pang Sock Tao.
Bangi MP Syahredzan Johan said Pakatan Harapan candidate Pang Sock Tao’s victory in the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election should serve as a wake-up call for Perikatan Nasional.
The DAP central executive committee member praised Pang’s victory and highlighted it as a testament to the people’s continued trust in the Selangor government led by Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari, and the federal government under Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
The election outcome demonstrated the effectiveness of PH’s election machinery and highlighted increased support from the Orang Asli community and early voting involving police and Army personnel. Pang Sock Tao’s victory also carries the agenda of promoting eco-tourism to spur the local economy.
The electoral roll for the Kuala Kubu Baru by-election consisted of 40,226 people, including ordinary voters, policemen, military personnel, and overseas absentee voters1. Overall, the election results defied some analysts’ predictions and underscored the dynamics of local politics in the region.
There is great hope for PH’s return in GE 16. A lot of patience and tolerance is required for PH to work as a united force in the unity government.
