The President of UMNO, probably with the knowledge and tacit understanding of PMX manufacture and external crisis to force internal consolidation and flush out hidden adversaries.

For Zahid, tying his survival directly to the survival of the Unity Government creates a high-stakes scenario where any move to unseat him risks collapsing the entire federal administration.
Zahid and his leadership circle must project strength to reassure their Malay-nationalist grassroots that UMNO is an autonomous partner, not a subservient sidekick to PH.
Statements challenging PH or drawing lines on government branding - such as Zahid publicly emphasizing that the administration is legally a "Unity Government" rather than a "Madani Government" - serve as a calculated defensive play. It forces internal plotters to choose between backing down or executing an overt, risky move that could disrupt national political stability

And in the process, the President of UMNO, Zahid badged his own survival in the party and his Presidency to a survival of BN/UMNO in the Madani govt.
This is more sexy and take the focus away from those who are clearly using all avenues and attempt to marginalise and push Zahid into a corner so that the story on the discontent that Zahid is facing in his own party does not have any legs.
A classic mechanism in political warfare.
The ‘team’ behind the scheme and move to marginalise and discredit Zahid is playing a long game where their ultimate goal is for Zahid to resign voluntarily and not forcibly forced to resign that could elicit adverse reactions from those who have been supporting Zahid all these while.
Who are the `plotters’ and stands to gain from all these?
Speculatively Khairy is and probably offered himself to be the lead in this attempt to discredit Zahid.
Yes, the evidence to support this speculation is very much circumstantial but it is pretty damning nonetheless.

The call by Zahid for the Madani govt to sack BN/ UMNO is definitely a response to draw out the schemers and plotters from the group who are out to plot Zahid’s downfall.
Who stands to benefit from Zahid’s removal?
Mohamed Hasan, Hishamuddin Onn, Khairy, Akmal and all those supporting them.
All of them have, historically differed from Zahid’s trajectory.
Khairy through his platform the Keluar Sekejap podcast analyse and amplify internal cracks, shape public perception and agitate the grassroots without bearing the direct political cost if the coup fails.
They manufactured discontent and rumblings within the Madani govt - to ‘force’ BN/UMNO to quit the Madani govt or for the Madani govt to push BN/UMNO out of the Madani govt -
with the real purpose of manufacturing a retaliatory event with the goal of an escalated response from PMX and PH.
All of them bears no burden if their scheme failed and Zahid remains and continued as President.
Presently this group did not expect PMX was not baited and bought into their threats and actions.
They underestimated PMX resources and his ability to coordinate with other political partners in PH and they vastly underestimated PMX’s surveillance infrastructure and team of analysts.
Even though the writer do not have direct evidence but it is the writer’s best theory.
Now where and when PMX and Zahid will move their chess piece?
