Oppo Malaysia and Tourism Malaysia today signed a memorandum of collaboration (MoC) to continue their support for local artists and photographers, equipping them with the tools to document and share the country’s rich culture and beauty with audiences worldwide.
Building upon the smartphone maker’s Rediscovering Malaysia Through the Lens campaign announced earlier in May, the MoC marks a new chapter for Oppo Malaysia and Tourism Malaysia in their growing relationship.
Using Oppo’s flagship Find X Series smartphones, photographers such as Haziq Zuki, Yusuf Madi and Zairul Puad traversed across Malaysia to find and capture Malaysia’s hidden wonders – be it spaces, places or people and culture. The campaign took them off the beaten
path, documenting remote coastal communities, undiscovered trails and heritage rarely seen in the mainstream lens.
The journey also brought them to Wau Sobek Sering in Kelantan, where wau-making craftsmen carried stories of a fading tradition that speaks quietly yet powerfully to the diversity and depth of Malaysian culture, while under the pitch-black skies of Mersing, the magnificent Milky Way arches over the rugged rock formations of Pulau Mawar, where the galaxy meets the sea to transform this hidden coastal gem into a breathtaking gateway to the cosmos.

“The most powerful stories are told through imagery and Malaysia has no shortage of stories worth telling. We continue to be in awe of the photographers and content creators who took up the Find Series and made it their own — their instinct for finding beauty in the unexpected is what gives this campaign its true soul. Together, we hope these images inspire the world to see Malaysia not just as a destination, but as an experience waiting to be discovered,” said Oppo Malaysia marketing director Monica Qin.
The MoC ceremony also saw Tourism Malaysia present several certificates of appreciation to the involved creatives, in acknowledgement of their efforts to capture and platform Malaysia’s hidden stories and gems.
“This partnership not only showcases the distinctive beauty and character of Malaysia, but also celebrates the creativity of our diverse and talented photographers through art and imagery. This collaboration builds on our previous Strategic Communication Programme in Kelantan, which involved 15 participants from Oppo Malaysia. We are pleased to continue this collaboration in highlighting Malaysia’s unique destinations and experiences through the power of visual storytelling,” said Tourism Malaysia deputy director-general (promotions) and head of Visit Malaysia 2026–2027 secretariat Mohd Akbal Setia.
This collaboration is the latest in Oppo’s ongoing commitment to celebrating Malaysia through the power of imaging. The 2024 #OppoMalaysiaThroughTheLens campaign and Coffee Table Book used Oppo’s True-to-Life imaging to spotlight and preserve five traditional Malaysian art forms, from wayang kulit to the Ngajat dance. “Rediscovering Malaysia Through the Lens” now extends this outward, shifting the lens from cultural preservation to destination discovery.
Beyond this initiative, photography enthusiasts and the public can look forward to the arrival of Oppo’s next flagship — the Oppo Find X10 Series. Unveiling on Oct 22 in Malaysia, the new flagship will empower Malaysians to experience the world through a more authentic lens — capturing the country’s scenic landscapes, vibrant cultures and everyday moments in true-to-life colour and detail.
Those eager to be among the first to get their hands on the Find X10 Series can place their pre-orders from today to Oct 30 and enjoy six complimentary photography workshops worth RM1,149 hosted by professional photographers and content creators. Held at Oppo stores every weekend starting on Oct 24, the Oppo Studio masterclass lets you explore everything from playing with light, chasing detail to mastering colour, portrait and zoom before unleashing your artistry in Create. This is the opportunity to learn how to make the most of what the new flagship has to offer. Spots at the workshop are offered on a first-come first-served basis.
