
LAHAD DATU: Police seized two motorcycles and issued 15 summonses in the Ops Samseng Jalanan carried out in several locations here on Saturday.
District Police Chief, ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail said the operation which carried out from 10pm to 4am aims to curb street thugs which disrupt public safety.
He said the operation was carried out in some hotspot areas including Bandar Fajar, Bandar Sri Perdana, Batu 6 Jalan Segama, Lahad Datu town, Bandar I-Peak and Jalan Pan Borneo.
“Following the operation, 15 summons were issued on various offences including for having fancy plate number, not having a license, no side mirror, exhaust modification and others.
“A total of 55 individuals and 10 vehicles were inspected resulting in two motorcycles were seized under Section 64 of the Road Transport Act 1987,” he said.
According to Dzulbaharin, Police will not compromise against street thugs as it may endanger other road users. Enforcement action will be carried out consistently for the safety of the road users.
He also called on the people to always comply with the rules and regulations as well as conveying information on such activities to the police.
