Police issued 32 summonses for various offences during an anti-illegal racing operation in Iskandar Puteri, targeting modified vehicles and dangerous driving

ISKANDAR PUTERI: Police issued 32 summonses for various traffic offences during an anti-illegal racing operation here early this morning.

The operation, codenamed Ops Samseng Jalanan or Ops Motokar, was conducted along Lebuh Medini Utama.

Iskandar Puteri district police chief ACP M. Kumarasan said the location was identified as a hotspot for groups involved in illegal racing and dangerous driving stunts.

A total of 45 vehicles were inspected during the operation, involving 63 men and 14 women aged between 18 and 50.

Offences detected included unauthorised vehicle modifications, particularly to exhaust systems, and the use of registration plates not conforming to specifications.

Other offences were related to regulations set by the Road Transport Department (JPJ).

Kumarasan stressed that police will not compromise with individuals involved in illegal racing activities.

He said such acts endanger both the perpetrators and other road users.

Operations of this nature will be continued periodically to curb illegal racing activities.

The aim is to ensure public safety and order are continuously preserved.
