…….when BN / UMNO are working together with PH at the Federal level and supported and still are supporting all the policies and economic measures rolled out by the Federal government?
To a lot of ordinary Malaysians, the scenes being played out now is that of a married couple (BN and PH) with each going out and are actively campaigning and looking for a partner.
And each are going to get married to that new partner.
At home, they remained married to each other but on the outside, each also has their own partner married to them.
Complicated and confusing?
You bet.
In the ongoing Johor state election campaign, BN/UMNO has been actively running down PH to appeal to the Malay-Muslim electorate and revive the party's dominance.
By choosing to contest all 56 state seats solo rather than cooperating with their federal partners, BN leaders are distancing themselves from PH to project strength and stability.
Whatever happened and implemented in Johor for the past 3+ years were all administered by the BN/UMNO political coalition who controlled the state legislature.
No representatives from PH are in the state exco.
It was all staffed by representatives from BN only.
At the Federal level, the Madani government comprised of representatives from few political parties or coalitions including BN/UMNO who is part of that government.
How critical and influential of BN / UMNO in the Madani government?
Very crucial and influential.
According to the Umno Secretary-General, the Madani government and the Madani Government would not have exist today were it not for Umno's crucial decision to participate and form the coalition following the hung parliament in the 15th GE.
Naturally, nothing gets decided or approved or delayed or rejected unless UMNO / BN agrees to it.
Such as the lack of structural reforms set out in PH’s manifesto in 2022.
Delay in the bill on the separation of the AG and Public Prosecutor.
Delay in the bill limiting the tenure of the Prime Minister.
Compromises on anti-corruption specifically the withdrawal of charges against the President of UMNO.
Inability of the government to bring down the cost-of-living.
Were all the above shared and tabled to the Cabinet that includes representatives from BN / UMNO for discussion and feedback?
Who rejects or delayed the discussions on all the above?
PKR? DAP? Or PH? Or UMNO?
BN is not represented in the Cabinet as there were no representatives from MCA and MIC in the Cabinet.
Why then, are the ordinary Malaysians upset with PH for the slow pace of reforms or non fulfilment of the promises set out in their manifesto in 2022?
