
Kota Kinabalu: The 42nd Asean Federation of Engineering Organisations (CAFEO42) Conference will be held for three days in Sabah from October 22.
CAFEO42 Organising Chairman Datuk Ir Willy Chin Tet Fu said more than 1,000 participants from 10 Asean countries are expected to attend the conference at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) here.
“In addition to the conference, there will also be about 60 exhibition booths that will be open to the public.
“For the exhibition, the public can bring their families, especially children who are interested in engineering, for us to share the atmosphere and experience so that they can get early exposure.

According to Willy, for the first time Sabah was chosen as the location of the conference.
“This year, Malaysia is the host for this conference and Sabah is the preferred location because there are sufficient facilities and resources.
“We are lucky because it was not only chosen as the location of this prestigious conference, but the participants who come will definitely bring their families to travel here, thus giving an economic return to Sabah,” he added.
Also present were (Afeo) Chairman Ir Prof Dr Jeffrey Chiang Choong Luin and Institute of Engineering Malaysia (IEM) Sabah Chairman Ir Ts Mohd Yaakob Jaafar.
