LAHAD DATU: The Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) has seized assets worth RM1,767,261.90 and detained 140 individuals following 13 operations conducted between January and September this year.
Esscom Commander, DCP Datuk Victor Sanjos, said at the monthly assembly on Monday that the operations concluded on Sept 26, successfully achieving their Key Performance Index (KPI) ahead of schedule.
“Despite meeting our target, Esscom will maintain momentum to ensure continuous security in the Esszone, in line with our motto ‘Esscom: Tiada Hari Tiada Operasi’ (No Day Off),” Victor said.
He emphasised the importance of gathering and analysing intelligence to focus future operations on hotspot areas across all esszone districts. Victor also urged strengthening the ‘Gerak Saraf Perang Saraf (GSPS)’ programme to ensure it benefits local communities.
With the Sabah State Assembly dissolved, Victor assured that Esscom stands ready to mobilise and safeguard the east coast of Sabah, preventing any threats during the election period.
Looking ahead, Esscom plans to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance security, including installing long-range cameras in Inderasabah and Pulau Banggi, upgrading the Esscom Fusion Centre, acquiring Tactical Floating Barges in Pulau Banggi, Kudat, and Pulau Sebatik, and implementing a Fiber Optic Border Management System in Pulau Sebatik.
Victor called on all Esscom personnel to stay focused, armed with strong assets, skills, and integrity, to defend Sabah’s east coast and navigate the challenges of the digital era responsibly.
