MANILA, Philippines — Fifty-two overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, returned to the Philippines aboard Qatar Airways Flight QR928, which arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 on Tuesday, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) said.
In a statement dated November 3 and posted on Wednesday, OWWA said it provided the returning workers with food, land and air transportation, temporary accommodation for some of them, and financial assistance for their immediate needs.
The agency said it continues to coordinate with the Department of Migrant Workers, the Philippine Embassy and Migrant Workers Offices in Saudi Arabia to assist OFWs affected by the situation there.
“OWWA is here to assist you as you recover and prepare for your next steps with your family,” the agency said in its message to the returning workers.
