Brighton boss Graham Potter has explained his donation to former club Ostersunds.

OFK announced on Tuesday that Potter, Billy Reid, Bjrn Hamberg and Kyle Macauley had donated money to the club. The Swedes have organised a rescue fund as they battle against major debts.

Potter told the stersunds-Posten: "We heard about the problems the club has. We talked about it as a group and the first reaction was that you get sad, a little disappointed, frustrated and angry that they have been in this situation since we left. With the Europa League and the fine group of players that existed then ... It is sad to see the club in such a financial emergency.

"At the same time, the club means a lot to us. Some of the memories from there will live with us for the rest of our lives. It was our home for several years and we love the city. So, despite being disappointed, we ultimately want to help them out of trouble."
