Pahang state government introduces a two-day weekly WFH scheme for civil servants to address living costs, with implementation starting next week.
KUANTAN: The Pahang State Government will implement a rotational two-day-per-week work-from-home scheme for its civil servants starting next week.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail (pic) said the decision was made during a state executive council meeting.
He cited public concerns and the challenges of rising living costs amid the conflict in West Asia as key factors.
“The policy will be implemented in an organised and scheduled manner without affecting operational efficiency,” he told a press conference.
He added that department heads will coordinate implementation based on their specific service requirements.
Wan Rosdy expressed hope that civil servants would maintain high discipline, integrity, and productivity.
Implementation will be monitored via standard operating procedures to prevent service delivery gaps.
“The WFH policy will be guided by prevailing circumstances and can be reviewed once conditions stabilise,” he said.
He noted the state had previous experience with WFH arrangements during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Menteri Besar also encouraged private companies, GLCs, and other employers to consider flexible work arrangements.
He suggested they adopt WFH policies where suitable for their operations.
In a separate matter, Wan Rosdy congratulated Pahang students on their excellent Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia results.
The state government has allocated nearly RM4 million to support educational development.
He pledged continued assistance to ensure access to quality education for Pahang’s children.
