Palace cites Robredo’s feedback in national government program

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Wednesday cited the positive feedback of Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo about the transparent implementation of the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF).

In a palace briefing, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. listened to the opinions of local leaders in evaluating how national assistance performed on the ground—particularly from Robredo.

"We also heard the opinion of Mayor Leni Robredo, where she said that the results of the LGSF were good and they saw how transparent, and where the funds should go," Castro said in Filipino.

The LGSF is a special fund of the national government for financing local development projects and priority needs of local government units (LGUs).

The executive branch proposed a P58.53 billion allocation for LGSF, or an increase of about 1.14 percent from the P57.87 billion fiscal allocation logged in 2026.
