MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang accused Vice President Sara Duterte of resorting to “desperate moves” after she claimed President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. holds power over the Senate, the courts, and the police.
After posting bail on September 7, Duterte alleged that the Marcos administration exerts direct control over key branches and law enforcement.
In a video message, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said instead of working with the government to deliver the needs of the Filipino people, the vice president is “wasting her time” blaming the administration of her “baseless accusations.”
“Instead of working for the welfare of the people, the Vice President wastes her time engaging in this kind of mudslinging against government agencies—including the Senate, the courts, and the police force,” she said in Filipino.
“This is a desperate move by the Vice President to undermine the integrity of the authorities and portray herself as a victim under pressure, even though she is the one responsible for the entire situation,” she added.
