MANILA, Philippines — Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro slammed Caloocan 2nd District Rep. Edgar Erice over his statements that President Marcos will not bring former House Speaker Martin Romualdez to jail over alleged flood control fund corruption.
In an interview, Erice said Marcos' statement against Romualdez was merely "optics" and that the Office of the Ombudsman under Jesus Crispin Remulla protects administration interests.
During a press briefing, Castro told Erice that he should not speak if he does not know the president’s plans to address the flood control corruption scandal.
"Everything that comes from his mind has no basis. There are no facts, only theories. In the government, we should not always live on theories," Castro said in Filipino.
