
A swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected members of the Panchayat Samiti of the Sadar development block was held at the auditorium in Bheuli here today. The event marked the formal commencement of the tenure of the newly elected representatives.
Presiding Officer and Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Civil), Sadar, Rupinder Kaur, administered the oath of office and secrecy to all 26 members. The ceremony was attended by Sadar MLA and former minister Anil Sharma and Drang MLA Purn Chand Thakur.
SDM Rupinder urged the elected members to work wholeheartedly for the development of their respective areas and the welfare of the people. She said Panchayati Raj representatives played a vital role in accelerating rural development, strengthening grassroots democracy and addressing the day-to-day concerns of citizens.
Chief Executive Officer of Sadar Panchayat Samiti and Block Development Officer Surender Kumar provided a detailed orientation to the newly elected members regarding the functioning of the Panchayati Raj Department.
