Deputy Commissioner Anand Kumar Sharma has constituted a committee under the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zila Parishad to fix the rates for materials used in government’s construction works in the district.

The committee will include the District Food and Supplies Controller (DFSC), XENs of the Panchayati Raj Department, Public Works Department (PWD) and the Block Development and Panchayat Officer (BDPO), Gharaunda, as members.

Presiding over a meeting of officials of departments concerned at his office on Tuesday, Sharma directed the committee to prepare its report regarding the rates of construction materials to be used in government projects at the earliest.

He added that the committee would recommend rates in the district to ensure transparency and uniformity in construction-related works.

“Proper determination of rates would help streamline government projects and ensure quality in public infrastructure works,” said the DC.

The DC also reviewed construction of a biogas plant at Hasanpur village of Gharaunda block. He sought an explanation regarding the execution of works beyond the approval and asked how the additional expenditure would be managed. Sharma directed officials to conduct both technical and financial audits of the project to examine its execution and expenditure incurred.
