The Haryana School Education Board announced its Class X results on Thursday, a day after the announcement of the Class XII results. Panipat, the district that Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda hails from, registered an impressive performance and retained its place among the top five districts in the state for the second year in a row.

In the Class XII results, Panipat ranked third in the state, with a pass rate of 90.84 per cent, while in the Class X results, the district firmly stood in fourth place, with a pass rate of 93.61 per cent. The district was fourth in the state for both Class X and XII in 2025, while it secured the sixth and seventh position in the Class X and XII results, respectively, in 2024.

According to the available information, a total 14,848 students appeared in the Class X examinations this year, of which 13,899 students passed. Similarly, a total 10,517 students appeared for the Class XII state examinations, of which 9,459 students passed.

According to official data, Panipat district has been improving in terms of its pass rate for the last nine years and has entered the club of five best districts for education. The 2019 Class X result recorded a 57.39 per cent pass rate and it has been climbing ever since. In 2020, it improved to 64.12 per cent.

In 2021, the Haryana State Education Board had not organised an examination and passed all the students due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But in the next year in 2022, a pass rate of 82.92 per cent marked the district’s entry into the top 5 districts of the state, securing it the fourth position.

In 2023, the district recorded a slight decline in the results, with a pass rate of 74.30 per cent. However, in 2024, the result was 97.24 per cent and the district secured the third place in the state. In 2025, the district recorded a 95.74 per cent result, finishing fourth in the state.

Although Panipat has retained this spot, the pass rate has witnessed a decline of 2.13 per cent this year. In the Class X results too, Panipat has retained the fourth position with a pass percentage of 89.94 per cent. The district has recorded an improvement in the Class XII results almost every year for the last ten years.

Rakesh Boora, District Education Officer (DEO), Panipat, said officials, teachers and students in the district were working collectively to achieve the goal of 100 per cent results in the state board examinations. To improve the results, special meetings of principals of government and private schools have been held from time to time. Moreover, officials have been visiting government schools on a regular basis from July to February to review operations and have been maintaining the daily diary system from class 1 to class 12 in all government schools on which teachers and parents has to sign on daily basis, the DEO added.

“During the winter vacation (from January 1 to 15), we conducted special papers for students and following the pre-board exams, motivated them with prayers on a regular basis. Regular parent-teacher meetings (PTMs) were also organised,” said DEO Boora, adding that Panipat stood first in the state for participation of students in various schemes, including the Super-100, Mission Buniyad and the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMSS) scheme.
