Para bowling pair sign off with gold in third partnership

SUBANG JAYA, Sept 10 - Selangor para tenpin bowlers Rosheedey Faizal Roslan and Ahmad Nazri Hamzah, once again proved their powerful combination after coming out on top at the 2026 Malaysia Para Games (SUKMA).

Rosheedey, 40, said the success was particularly meaningful for the duo as this year’s Games marked their third and final appearance due to the age limit for participation.

"The feeling is really happy because this is our last year for Para SUKMA. We have already partnered three times for Malaysia and praise be to God, we were able to contribute another gold to Selangor.

"Tomorrow (today) we will be competing in the trio event. Pray that we can contribute another gold for this state," he told Media Selangor.

Rosheedey also expressed hope that new replacements would emerge to continue the Selangor tenpin bowling squad at the upcoming Para SUKMA.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Nazri,36, said he was also grateful to end his Para SUKMA appearance on a successful note.

He also expressed gratitude for the support of his family, especially his wife, who has been a great source of support throughout his involvement in sports.

Ahmad Nazri, a physically disabled (OKU) athlete, said his right leg had to be amputated in 2004 due to bone cancer, but this did not break his spirit to continue fighting, and he has since managed to remain free of the disease.

“Previously, I represented Malaysia in basketball, but after becoming OKU I tried to join tenpin bowling and in 2024 I started being active and participated in several competitions.

“I tried my luck and Alhamdulillah at that time Selangor called me to undergo selection and I qualified to join the SUKMA para bowling team.

“Hopefully this is the last SUKMA that is meaningful for us, thank you to everyone who has supported me a lot. God willing, after this we want to focus on the SEA Games,” he said.
