PETALING JAYA - Pas and its Perikatan Nasional (PN) allies will conform to the notices issued by the Registrar of Societies (RoS) and take the necessary steps to deal with them.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Islamist party said it was confident that the notices would be managed according to the law and appropriate legal process.
Noting that the notices were issued on the same day as the announcement on the dissolution of the Melaka state legislative assembly, Pas said it would discuss with other PN parties on the next steps to be taken.
"On the principle of collective discussions and accountability, Pas, together with other responsible component parties in the coalition, will study and take all reasonable steps in accordance with the laws and regulations established, especially the Societies Act, to fulfil the goals, objectives of establishment and struggle of PN," it said.
PN was served with two notices, with one seeking a reply as to why the coalition should not be deregistered and the other notifying them to suspend all their activities effective Sept 23.
The notices followed a complaint by Bersatu, which claimed that it was not included in a PN supreme council meeting held on July 16.
Bersatu also raised the issue of its membership within the coalition to the RoS. - THE STAR
