Ahmad Fadhli Shaari says PAS-PN-Umno-BN cooperation aims to restore Malay political power, while assuring Chinese and Indian voters of unity
SEREMBAN: PAS has called on Negeri Sembilan voters to support the “unity of the ummah” agenda pursued alongside Perikatan Nasional (PN), Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN), saying it is key to ensuring political stability and shaping the state’s future.
PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari said the initiative seeks to strengthen Malay political representation, which he described as the foundation of political stability in the country.
He said PAS and PN, together with Umno and BN, are committed to advancing the agenda in Negeri Sembilan as part of their vision for the country’s future.
“PAS and PN’s efforts to realise the unity of the ummah agenda with Umno and BN are driven by our desire to restore Malay political power because that is the fundamental basis upon which political stability can be achieved.
“PAS, PN, Umno and BN are serious about ensuring this agenda is realised in Negeri Sembilan. This is also the reality that we are building for the future of the country, God willing,” he said in a Facebook post today.
Ahmad Fadhli also urged Malay-Muslim voters to support the initiative and set aside past political differences for what he described as the greater interest of the ummah.
“I understand that many among us still remember past disputes. Believe me, this unity also requires us to make personal sacrifices for the sake of the ummah,” he said.
Addressing Chinese and Indian voters, Ahmad Fadhli urged them not to judge PAS based on the perceptions of others.
He said PAS is neither an extremist party nor one that harbours hostility towards the Chinese and Indian communities, adding that the party consistently advocates unity and social harmony.
“PAS respects all races and religions in this country. PAS has always carried a message of unity.
“Just because PAS speaks about the Malays does not mean other races are being sidelined.
“Just because PAS speaks about Islam does not mean PAS is an extremist party,” he said.
He also called on the people of Negeri Sembilan to support the PN-BN unity agenda, describing it as important for the state’s future.
“Let us come together under the PN and BN unity of the ummah agenda for the future of the people of Negeri Sembilan,” he said.
