SHAH ALAM - Police have advised the public not to hold any gatherings or demonstrations regarding the death of a dog named Rocky, which is scheduled to be brought to the Klang Court on Thursday.
Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Shazeli Kahar, stated that the public should trust the authorities and allow the legal process to take its course following the completion of the investigation into the case.
"I advise that there is no need to exaggerate this issue to the extent of holding any gatherings or demonstrations. From a legal standpoint, the investigation has been conducted, and we have identified those responsible," he told a press conference at the Selangor Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK) here on Wednesday.
According to him, the Selangor Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) are committed to conducting a fair investigation without favouring any party.
"The investigation we conducted has led to a prosecution order tomorrow. This demonstrates that we are not taking sides. As long as anyone violates the law, we will investigate and take action in accordance with the law," he said.
Shazeli added that the public should allow the legal process room to carry out its duty rather than causing any disturbance.
Meanwhile, he noted that security controls are routinely implemented by the police in the court area, including measures to ensure public order.
"Police presence is always maintained at the court. I trust that the South Klang District Police Chief will take appropriate measures tomorrow as well. Therefore, to the public, please attend peacefully and in good order.
There is no need to disrupt the peace tomorrow. Let the law do its job," he said.
However, Shazeli mentioned that members of the public who wish to attend to observe the charging proceedings are welcome to do so, but are urged to maintain orderly manners and comply with police instructions.
