NATIONAL women's doubles, Pearly Tan–M Thinaah earned US$364,915 (RM1.49 million) in prize money this season, thanks to their consistent performance on the BWF World Tour.

The world number two pair stood a chance of earning RM2.5 million if they won the 2025 BWF World Tour Finals in Hangzhou which ended yesterday.

A title in the tournament will see them earn US$252,000 (about RM1.03 million) — the highest prize money offered by the Badminton World Federation (BWF).

However, the tight schedule involving 18 tournaments this season clearly affected Pearly–Thinaah's performance when they had to settle for US$60,000 (RM245,000) after reaching the semi-finals last Saturday.

Despite losing to Japanese pair Mayu Matsumoto–Yuki Fukushima 19-21, 13-21, the BWF World Tour Finals prize money remains the highest winning prize of any tournament they have won this year.

In addition to the financial returns, Pearly–Thinaah won the Thailand Open, Arctic Open, and Kumamoto Masters, all of which are Super 500 tournaments. – December 22, 2025
