IPOH: The Perak state government will commence its Work From Home policy for state civil servants on April 15.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad confirmed the start date, stating it aligns with a circular issued by Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar.
He explained that the state’s implementation would be adapted to current needs and local conditions despite following the federal directive.
“We are following the circular, and the State Secretary has also issued a circular regarding the start date of April 15,” Saarani told a press conference.
He added that the State Secretary and Chief Secretary are still studying the specific methods of implementation for the policy.
Saarani assured that the state government would ensure a smooth rollout by adhering to established guidelines and meeting the requirements of the state civil service.
The federal circular, announced on April 2, made officers in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and state capitals eligible for WFH if their one-way commute exceeds eight kilometres.
This strategic measure aims to enhance government preparedness for the global energy crisis resulting from the conflict in West Asia.
