Perpetual ends 6-game skid, gets back at Arellano

MANILA, Philippines -- University of Perpetual Help System DALTA got back at Arellano University, 65-58, at the San Juan Arena Monday to end its 6-game skid in the NCAA Season 102 men's basketball tournament.

Tied at 58 in the last 2:15, LA Casinillo and Mark Gojo Cruz anchored the Altas 7-0 finishing kick as the Altas avenged their first round loss to the Chiefs -- the very defeat that started their losing spell.

Casinillo scored back-to-back baskets before Cruz delivered three free throws with the last two coming in the final 10 ticks to seal the win for Perpetual, which rose to 3-7 for fourth place in Group B.

Cruz finished with 14 points, five rebounds, and three assists as Casinillo finished with 11 points, six rebounds, and two assists.

Arellano dropped to 5-5 but stayed in second place in Group B.
